Rosemary oil stimulates blood circulation to the scalp and promotes hair growth. This herb oil offers an anti-inflammatory benefit that helps to nourish hair follicles. It also has an analgesic property that soothes an inflamed scalp. It adds shine and luster to the hair.
Applying clove oil on your scalp boosts blood circulation which reduces hair fall and also promotes hair growth. It also lends the much-needed shine to dry and dull hair.
Aloe vera hair oil
For our Aloe Vera set, we were very intentional in considering those with sensitive skin, babies, and young children. We also considered those who would prefer to not have their hair smelling fragranced by choice. We put all of this into perspective whilst ensuring that the herbs, botanicals, oils, and butters used to create this line had all its amazing benefits. Though this oil is FRAGRANCE-FREE your hair will be left smelling like the sweet gentle aroma of natural botanicals.

Dandruff and Dry Scalp
Many naturalistas struggle with dry scalp and dandruff which can become very itchy and sometimes unbearable. Hot oil treatments are great for soothing dry scalps and keeping dandruff at bay. Our African Citrus Superfruit Hair Oil is a multi-tasking hair saviour. Not only can it be used as an overnight hot oil treatment, but can be used as a pre-poo treatment, a frizz taming serum and also works brilliantly as a defence against damages caused by the sun, sea and chlorinated water. Along with dandruff and dry scalp, hot oil treatments also help to stimulate blood flow to your scalp. A nice scalp massage will help increase blood circulation and in turn promote hair growth.
Hot oil treatments are amazing at providing moisture to dry hair. The warm oil helps to penetrate the hair strands and moisturise them. Natural hair can tend to be dry, so any type of moisturising hot oil treatment can help this, bringing back moisture and preventing dryness which can also lead to breakage.
Hot oil treatments can help prevent frizz too. It also helps to seal the ends of your hair strands which in turn prevents split ends. After doing hot oil treatments, over time you will begin to see the changes in your hair. Your hair will look and feel healthier and more shiny.
How to use
1. Prep your hair
Deciding whether you want to do a hot oil treatment on wet or dry hair depends on your hair type. If your hair is extremely thick or dry, Shorter recommends applying to dry hair, while medium or fine hair should be treated wet.
2. Heat your oil
Warm the bottle in your hands or put a few teaspoons in a bowl and nuke it in the microwave for 10-15 seconds.
3. Let the product sit
Depending on how much love your hair needs, you can either apply it immediately after you shampoo for 10 to 15 minutes, or let it sit overnight and wash it out in the morning. Parting your hair into four different sections and pulling the oil from your scalp down to the ends would be an effective way to apply the oil. Then, let it sit under a plastic shower cap and wrap your head with one of our beautiful bonnets, or if you’ve got them, a hair steamer or hood dryer.
6. Wash it out
After you’ve let the hot oil treatment sit (for however long you choose), rinse it out with water, then shampoo (if needed depending on your hair type to avoid leaving it too oily) and condition as normally.
7. Repeat as needed
Depending on how much love your hair needs, you can treat it to some hot oil once a week or once every two weeks
