How to use
To hydrate your hair daily you can use to of these methods which are both very similar:
- Method 1
Spray leave-in conditioner all over your hair then apply a bit of oil and massage it through your hair altogether then style. You are good to go.
- Method 2
Apply moisturiser to your hair comb/finger comb through your hair then apply oil and style as usual.
- Porosity matters. Since porosity affects how your hair retains moisture, it also affects how you should moisturize your hair. If you don’t know what porosity is or your hair’s porosity.-
- If you have low porosity hair, your hair has a tight cuticle layer and struggles to take in moisture. Use heat when applying moisture (steam, warm water, or a heat cap) to open your cuticles. Don’t over-apply product or go heavy-handed. Instead, leave oils and conditioners in a little longer to give your hair more time to absorb moisture. And unless you know your hair is lacking protein, stay away from protein treatments that can make your hair feel dry and stiff.
- If you have medium porosity hair, use protein treatments or products with protein occasionally, and if your hair feels stiff or dry after using a product that’s high in protein, give it more time before your next treatment. Make sure to use leave-in conditioners/moisturizers and seal in with oil, anytime after wetting your hair.
- If your hair is high porosity, it’s all about sealing in moisture. Use leave-ins daily, and experiment with different oils (avocado oil, castor oil, coconut oil, jojoba oil, which all our hair oil contains) to see what keeps your hair most moisturized throughout the day.
Hair hydration is done to increase the moisture within the strands of hair. A hair moisturiser typically contains emollients and water-repelling oils that seal the moisture in your hair. Hair hydrating products contain humectants like glycerine which can help the water get absorbed into the core of the hair strand.
